You could decide you like the look of Stock X and order that (and only that, every day). Picking individual stocks vs investing in tracker funds is a bit like picking dishes from the restaurant at the end of the universe vs going for the taster menu. ![]() Ok so where the hell is Cem going with this analogy? You will enjoy some of the morsels and the poisonous ones will not be big enough to kill you. ![]() Option B) : Order the taster menu which brings a little bit of everything. In short, devote all your energy and time to making sure the dish you pick will be a good one. Strain to get a glimpse of the kitchen to see what the chefs are doing. Option A) : Try to see who is ordering what today, who is keeling over. What is the best strategy (assuming you do not want to die from starvation)? The chefs are mysterious, you never know from one day to the next which dish will be delicious and which will be laced with arsenic. Some taste great, some are average and a plateful of one or two WILL KILL YOU. Imagine a special restaurant – it is the only one in the universe and the only place you can eat. ![]()
